I'll take my chances with our local club and high school coach who puts in the time attempting to build his team.

I hear you Mr. Miller. Not counting gas or other expenses, Purler is about $1016 for two kids in the same family(at $85/week/kid - the second kid is half price). But it's not significantly more than sending a wrestler to some of the week long wrestling camps (we went to MU last summer). The Purler cost is for 8 months, 2-3 times per week. But however you slice it up, it still comes out to be a lot of money. Thus, I view it as an investment in my child's future - which it actually is - since he and I love the sport. Additionally, we continue to support and use the local club ($35 last summer for the entire summer) and I attend the high school practices every day where I observe our outstanding coaching staff developing young wrestlers as part of the school team. I am with you on that for sure. Now I have a grandson as well (age 5). I took him to Purler once and when Tony told him to wrestle - all he did was look back at Tony. I can't afford to take him yet. He has to spend a few more years learning in the $45 kids club class (LOL).
It's just that after the experiences I shared in the previous post, I feel that I have to do my best for this last child - my baby son. Hopefully in doing so - he will benefit in ways that his brothers never did. As parents - we have to do what we believe to be the best within our means at any given time. I believe that is the bottom line.
Believe me - if I didn't have the means - I'd just keep rolling around with him on the living room floor. But then again - that does not work too well anymore because now he's so much better than I am that he corrects or counters everything that I attempt to show him (LOL). So I have to tell him - "boy just let me do this move so I can feel like I taught you something new." LOL
About the guilt - it was a question - not a subject of enlightenment. Thanks for the reply.
Now back to the brackets.
Tonight is the big meeting for District 3. We have a young confident head coach who shared his district sheets with the wrestling parents; thus, we pretty much know what to expect from tonight's meeting.
Best wishes and good health to all the wrestlers and parents going to Ozark tomorrow!!! I'll see some of you there. Please do as some of you have done at other tournaments and introduce yourself to me. I enjoy meeting you guys from the board.
Blessings!!!!
